An entirely new body of Lucy’s work will be on display and available to buy. Revealing a new stage in her progression as an artist, this collection marks a significant development in scale, techniques and ideas.
In response to repeated requests, and inspired by her own little boys, Lucy has begun to explore portraying male characters more often in her paintings, and this latest show of her work sees the early fruits of this long-anticipated development.
The larger works, executed with strong contemporary flair, show classical oriental influences as well as a nod to 20th century masters of figurative art. This work in particular marks the shift from the naivety of earlier work to a much greater intensity and attention to detail, in both technique and expression.
