"Lessons in Levity #1" Limited edition print

"Lessons in Levity #1" Limited edition print

The title is inspired by a piece by the Czech photographer Tono Stano, “Lessons in Lightness”, a black and white photograph of a white feather suspended vertically against a black background, composed so that the feather appears to be standing perfectly upright by itself. The title and imagery stuck in my mind and inspired a little series of ‘impossible’ images of things that are by nature feather-light, to represent the concept of levity. In levity we seek to ‘keep things light’, to lift the spirit, to bring ease, gentleness, light-heartedness, the lightest of caresses – all things that often feel so lacking in the world in these times. More “Lessons in Levity” on the way… with the intention of bringing more lightness and gentleness to the world.

High quality giclée print from an original painting by Lucy Campbell, signed by the artist.
